At-a-Glance: Revisions for A Game Rulebook

Running the game should be easy

In early 2026, I started playing "Monster of the Week", a tabletop role-playing game by Michael Sands about a team of hunters who slay monsters.  It's a collaborative story-telling experience where one player, the Keeper, presents a mystery with "choose your own adventure" style options, and the others decide how to proceed as a team.
Monster of the Week's visual identity is grunge, monochrome, and minimalist.  However, reading the original rulebook is a challenge— important details are buried in paragraphs, and we often find ourselves lost in the dreaded "wall of text".
I created an alternative layout, seen below.  The goal was to strike a balance between "distinctly Monster of the Week" in visuals, while prioritizing readability and ease of navigation.
