Cuely UI/UX and Concept Art

Gamification campaign for a mental health and productivity app. Created Summer 2022.

Slay the Burnout Monster!
In Summer of 2022, I assisted the Cuely team with designing a gamified "Slay the Burnout Monster" campaign for their mental health and productivity app.
Below is the brainstorming board for incorporating gamification into their campaign.  These ideas were inspired by Duolingo and the progression systems found in video games.  We tried to highlight:
• Achievements and competition/collaboration between users
• Customization as a reward and incentive
• Cultivating curiosity through unlockables
Band Together, Tame the Beast
The "Slay the Burnout Monster" campaign provided teams working in digital workspaces an incentive to take care of their mental health.  The user would log their water, lunch, stretch, and other breaks.  These would contribute to calming the Burnout Monster, which we designed to look like a dragon from classic fantasy games.
Over the course of the campaign, the Burnout Monster would calm down, and become tame to reflect taking care of your own mental health.
Visual Integration
Some early icon tests for the "Slay the Burnout Monster"'s position on the app's interface.
The monster icon is still too busy-looking for my liking, especially compared to the other icons.
Adventure in the Workplace
A series of crystal ball icon designs for the Insights page, a place to view analytics and your progress.
We were still workshopping the visual style of the gamified campaign.  We aimed to have it mesh well with the existing, rounded modern style, but also have a distinct adventurous fantasy feeling to it.
Communicating Progression
A ton of monsters.  We experimented with how hostile/cute we wanted the stages of the monster to be, all while treading between clean vector and fantasy-style art.
